Who We Are
Union Square Loft traces its roots to the legacy of mid-20th century American photojournalist Addie Passen. What began as a romance novel reference photography and movie poster studio has evolved into a versatile, tech-customizable photography, video, and podcast production studio. Today, the space also functions seamlessly as a creative market research facility and event venue.
Emerging from the creative arts and rave culture of 1990s Downtown Manhattan, Union Square Loft was established in 1994 as LexPark Studio. For over thirty years, the studio has supported artists and culture makers in bringing their visions to life. Loft Director Carlos Montoya brings decades of audiovisual experience, including work as Executive Producer for TEDxBushwick NYC in 2015 and 2016, and extensive focus group A/V design and installations since 1992.
